Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti 2024: "Chirobondhu Chetona" (Eternal Friend Consciousness) - Cultural Programme Plan

Theme: "Chirobondhu Chetona" (Eternal Friend Consciousness) - Emphasizing Tagore's universal friendship, humanism, and connection with nature.

Objectives:

  • To commemorate the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

  • To provide a platform for students to showcase their talents.

Programme Outline:

  1. Inauguration (9:00 AM - 9:30 AM):

    • Welcome address by the Principal.
    • Garlanding of Tagore's portrait.
    • Recitation of a relevant Tagore poem by a senior student.
    • Lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
    • Introductory speech explaining the theme "Chirobondhu Chetona".
  2. Cultural Performances (9:30 AM - 12:00 PM):

    • Rabindra Sangeet (Songs):
      • Group songs focusing on friendship, nature, and universal love.
      • Solo performances of popular Tagore songs.
    • Rabindra Nritya (Dances):
      • Classical and creative dance performances based on Tagore's songs and dance dramas.
      • Dance performances that represent the theme of friendship with all.
    • Drama/Skit:
      • A short play or skit based on a Tagore story or a scene from his works, emphasizing the theme.
      • A skit that shows the meaning of true friendship.
    • Recitation:
      • Recitation of Tagore's poems, focusing on themes of nature, humanity, and friendship.
      • Students can recite their own poems that are inspired by Tagore.
    • Art Exhibition:
      • Display of student artwork (paintings, sketches, crafts) inspired by Tagore's works and the theme.
      • Include artwork that represents the connection between humans and nature.
  3. Prize Distribution & Closing (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM):

    • Announcement of winners for various competitions (if any).
    • Prize distribution by the Principal and Chief Guest (if any).
    • Vote of thanks by a student representative.
