About: Children’s day, one of the best day of the year for kids is celebrated on November 14, on the birth anniversary of the Jawaharlal Nehru in schools across the country. Jawaharlal Nehru, born on November 14 was the first Prime Minister of the country. Children’s Day is celebrated on his birthday because of his endless love & affection for children. Nehru was very fond of children and he strongly believed that children are the future of the nation. He once said “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.” The concept of celebrating children’s day came up after Nehru’s demise in 1964. In other countries, Universal children’s day is celebrated on November 20 every year. Children’s Day is celebrated on November 14 every year when schools organize various programs and different activities for children. The day is made special for children through the types of programs they choose to do. Teachers make it a point to participate in the children’s day function to cheer up the kids and make their day memorable.
